We look forward to researching together on this year\u2019s theme, \u201cThe State of Experience,\u201d focusing on action and performance art. The art historical connection between ZERO and G\u00fcnther Uecker is well known: In 1958, Uecker was able to show his works for the first time, alongside Heinz Mack and Otto Piene, in the so-called evening exhibition <em>Das rote Bild<\/em>. Between 1961 and 1966, Uecker was a member of the group, one of the most significant neo-avant-garde movements in post-war Germany. Now, almost 70 years later, we are re-examining the beginnings of this artistic engagement with process-based art and discussing its impact and relevance to this day with international scholars\u2014at the ZERO foundation\u2019s historic location. The highlight of our cooperation will be a workshop taking place on-site in D\u00fcsseldorf in November of this year.
