With this fellowship, the G\u00fcnther Uecker Institute supports B\u00f6hnke\u2019s research on Uecker\u2019s early painterly actions. His research project currently has the working title \u201cPenetrations of Space: Reflections on the Iconic Processes of Form at the Ground of G\u00fcnther Uecker\u2019s Painterly Reliefs from the Late 1950s.\u201d<br>In a statement of its reasons for awarding the research grant to Nick B\u00f6hnke, the jury emphasized that his \u201cunderstanding of Uecker\u2019s finger painting as an object between the haptic and the visual, between the development and completion of form, [opens] up new aspects in the work of the artist G\u00fcnther Uecker.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>G\u00fcnther Uecker Institute awards research fellowship to Dr. Nick B\u00f6hnke The 5th G\u00fcnther Uecker Research Fellowship 2022\/2023 will be awarded to the art historian Dr. Nick B\u00f6hnke.
