{"id":2418,"date":"2025-07-25T11:38:57","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T09:38:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.guenther-uecker-institut.de\/?page_id=2418"},"modified":"2025-07-25T11:44:41","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T09:44:41","slug":"schaumagazin","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.guenther-uecker-institut.de\/en\/schaumagazin\/","title":{"rendered":"schaumagazin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The G\u00fcnther Uecker Institut (GUI) is supporting the development of the &#8220;schaumagazin&#8221; in Schwerin and the dedicated Uecker Room within it through a major donation.<br>As a publicly accessible visible storage facility that places equal emphasis on presentation, preservation, and art historical research, the schaumagazin will become a new central venue for contemporary art in the state capital starting in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its construction is part of the German federal program &#8220;National Urban Development Projects&#8221; and is being funded with \u20ac4.77 million in federal resources. The overall project, located in the so-called Vorw\u00e4rts Quarter, is considered a development of national significance \u2014 a strong signal of both the cultural and urban importance of the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The schaumagazin will make works by major artists accessible to the public \u2014 including internationally renowned figures such as Richard Serra, Ai Weiwei, Joseph Beuys, Sigmar Polke, and Fran\u00e7ois Morellet, as well as contemporary positions such as Monika Brandmeier and Moritz G\u00f6tze.
